Financing New Deal Plans
(Received August 28, 5.5 p.m.)
Washington, August 27,
Following a White House conference it was Indicated that funds for most of the New Deal projects which were endangered by tlie failure of Congress to pass tlie Third Deficiency Bill could be obtained, probably from a Relief Fund.
As tlie result of n stonewall in the Senate by Senator Huey P. Long, Congress adjourned without passing the 100,000,000 dollar Third Deficiency Bill, and thus money was not provided for many major New- Deal projects.
