Successful Ingleside
The most successful Ingleside yet held by the Wellington Caledonian Society took place on Saturday evening, when the Allen Street hall was crowded. The floor was in excellent order for the old-time, modern, and Scots dancing, and Mr. J. Stirling was M.C. _ . • , The nrogjjimine was interspersed with songs and exhibition dances. Miss Minnie O'Connor sang “Crying for the Moon and “To a Miniature”; Miss Ruby Jacksou saug “Because” and “My Dear Soul”; and Mr. S. Croft’s songs wf re “The Miner” and “Captain Mae.’ Ibe Reel of Tulloch and Highland Reel were danced by Misses Rosina Smither, Gracie McKay, Peggy Smyth, and Daisy Marshall ; the sword dance and Highland fling by Master Peter Currie; the sailors’ hornpipe by Miss Patricia Clements; the clog and Irish hornpipe by ■ Miss Jean O’Connor; and a tap dance duo was given by - Master O. .Stewart and Miss Jean Stewart. The pipe band Played as selections “Inverness Gathering,” "Arniston Castle,” “Struy Lodge,” aud “Blue Bonnets.” The accompanists during the evening were Mr. C. Sander and D. Devitt, and the pipe music was furnished by Pipe-Major AV. Fraser and Piper W.’ Smith, juu.
