THE SOCIAL ROUND

League of Nations’ Union Reception

Visiting delegates to the conference of the New Zealand League of Nations Union and members of the Wellington branch of the union and their friends were entertained at a reception held in the Lyceum Club’s rooms last night. The club had been beautifully decorated for the occasion, the main room being a blaze of Iceland poppies, spring flowers and greenery, with, here and there, tall jardinieres containing long sprigs of pussywillow. Electric radiators added a further touch of warmth to the room.

The guests were received by Mrs. J. Henderson, Dominion and Wellington vice-president, who wore a frock of black embossed georgette, with dull red shoulder spray, and were later welcomed by Mr. P. J. O’Regan, president of the Wellington branch of the uniom During the evening a delightful programme was presented.
