£32 Raised For Mayor’s Fund
Yesterday’s community sing netted a total of £32/S/7 for the Mayor’s fund. The chief donations were £3/15/- subscribed by the delegates to the North Island Motor Union < inference at New Plymouth, and the weekly £1 from “Evergreen.” It was announced that the occasion was the last on which Mr. W. J. Mason would participate, as he was embarking upon a big task, contesting a seat at the forthcoming general election. Next week’s sing will be conducted by Messrs. Harold Himlle and Charles Proctor, assisted by Mr. Harry Wilson.
