The motor-ship Duntroon, which was built in England for the, Melbourne Steamship Company for the Inter-State passenger service, sailed from Newcastle-on-Tyne on August 1. via Aden. On arrival in September she will take up the running Immediately. The steamer Dlmboola, which has been sold to Eastern buyers, will be withdrawn and sail for Singapore. - The new ship l.s of 10.500 tons gross register and has a speed of 17 knots. She has a raking stem of modern type and a cruiser stern. Accommodation has been provided for about 400 first and second saloon passengers. The whole of the vessel’s superstructure forward is streamlined, to lessen wind reslstence. She is In command of Captain Cecil Roy. an Ola Parnell boy.
