Swimming Awards
Certificates for swimming were presented at the recent break-up of Wellesley College. Mr. A. J. Luke, president of the Parents’ Association, expressed the opinion that no school in Wellington could show a higher percentage of certificates for swimming than Wellesley College. He presented the following awards — 50 Yards Beginner’s Certificate.—A. Morgan, J. Keith. G. Rowland, A. Anderson, J. Fawcett, I. Schniedeman, P. Taylor, G. Baker, J. Stout, B. Freeman, S. Treadwell, P. Sutton, M. Thompson, M. Clere, J. Wheeler, A. Wilson, D. Luke, T. Blundell, J. Hanna, T. Brooks, C. Carman.
220 Yards Proficiency Certificate. — I. L. Robinson, M. Hyams, D. Clere, L. Barry, A. Smith, T. Corkill, F. Darling, A. L. Treadwell.
880 Yards Merit Certificate.—N. Meek, G. Harden, H. Bradley, S. Symon, S. Deviue, R. Plant, D. Symon, C. W. Robinson, R. Munro. B. Symon, E. Anderson, P. Scott, A. Macalister, B. Corkill, R. Begg, B. Barr. An exhibition of woodwork done by the boys during the term was admired by a large attendance of parents and friends.
