Saturday’s Trial Match TEAM FOR SOUTHERN TOUR In the Colts’ team for the Rugby trial match on Saturday, Upchurch lias been rop.aced by G. iteyuoiUs. (Wellington College Cid Boys), and Karsten (Athletic) has been included among the emergencies. The following team has been chosen to represent the Second Division and Senior B against the Senior A Colts at Athletic Park, at 1.30, on Saturday:— hull-back, K. O’Connor (St. Patrick’s Old Boys); three-quarters, Wareham (St. Patrick's Old Boys), Black (St. Patricks Old Boys), Forbes (Athletic); liveeighths, Wild (Varsity), McDermott (St. Patrick’s Old Boys); half-back, Rae (Varsity) ; forwards, Souness (Old Boys), Clark (Old Boys), Thor.pc (Petone), Chesterman (Varsity), Player (Hutt), Howe (Petone), Eade (Varsity), Taylor (Wellington). Emergencies: Backs,- Spencer (Hutt), Burridge (Eastbourne) ; forwards, Mclntosh (Hutt), Roddick (Athletic). The team will train at St. Patrick s College gymnasium at 7.30 to-morrow night. The sole selector, Mr. M. F. Nicholls, will complete the Colts’ team for the southern tour after the trial match on Saturday. The following players• have definitely been selected to make the trip:— Backs: Cresswell (Wellington), Manders (Hutt), Langdon (Marist. Bros. Old Boys), Spence (Petone), and Greenbank (Hutt). Forwards! Saulbrey (Hutt), M. Wright (Wellington College Old Boys), Pringle (Poneke), Reid (Petone), captain, Ropata (Marist Bros. Old Boys). Carter (Petone), Waite (Eastbourne!, and McLean (Wellington). The team will be captained by E. J Reid, captain of the Petone senior fifteen, who is retiring from the game after a record which includes upward of 50 appearances in representative matches. The Colts’ team will leave Wellington on Monday, and will play the following matches: — September 4.—v. Golden Bay-Motueka. at Motueka. September 7. —v. Buller, at Westport. September 11. —v. West Coast, at Hokitika. ' September 14. — v. Marlborough; at Blenheim.
