THE AUSTRALIAN HURDLE RACE.
About three miles and a quarter. SIXTEEN ANNAS, 10.0 (Hynes) .. 1 FULHAM, 10.5 (Sa it di fo rd) 2 LANIROI. 9.11 (Bracken) 3 All started. Sixteen Annas made all tbe running, and at one stage was fifteen lengths clear of the field. He won in dashing style by eight lengths, with Laniroi six lengths away third. TTlne, 6.8). Dress Suit, Riawena and Sir Bailos fell, but the latter rose and continued lhe race. Ferdelanee broke down.
Metro finished second in the Malakoff Stakes, which was won by Feldspar. Chenars was third in the Moondah Plate: Quarto was unplaced. Membo was unplaced in the TVilgah Steeplechasers’ flat race.
FORSTRY RUNS A COURSE RECORD By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received August 4, 7.30 p.m.) Sydney, August 4. At the Canterbury Park races yesterday, Parquet ran third in tbe Flying Handicap. Samovar was unplaced in the Canterbury Handicap, and Mananui was unplaced in the second division of the Highweight Handicap. Forestry won the Campsie Handicap of one milq one furlong by two lengths in I.s3b—a course record.
