KARORI CARNIVAL
Positions of Queens Tlte positions of the three queens in the queen carnival which is being conducted by sports bodies at Karori are as follow:—Hockey (Miss Doris Walker), 1; Rugby (Miss Joan Macklin), 2; cricket (Miss May Read), 3. Cmt.siiler.'iltle interest has been aroused by the eoiiter-t, which is part of a campaign lor funds Unit the Karori Cricket Club, the Karori Football Club ami the Karori Hoekey Club are conducting throughout July anil August, and moneyraising events will be of almost nightly oecurreneo. A score-board ami sight screens for cricket at Karori Park, and a gymnasium for football are some of the objects for .-liielt lhe respective sports bodies uro working, bod; the cricket club and the football club considering that n .suburb of such population should, with greater em'iHiriigeiuont, have teams competing in the highest grades of their respective sports.
