MAORI FOUND GUILTY

Breaking and Entering

N'ormau Williams, a young Maori, was found guilty by a jury in the Supreme Court yesterday on a charge of breaking and entering the premises of Mitchell and King, Cable Street, and theft. Accused, who pleaded not guilty, conducted his own defence. The Crown Prosecutor, Mr. I'. S. K. Macassey, said that when interviewed by the police, accused made a statement admitting the offence.. Since then ho had evidently changed his mind and decided to plead not guilty. Prisoner was remanded until Friday for sentence.
