DEATH SENTENCE
Price in Wellington Charles William Price, sentenced to death on Monday at Napier for the murder of Evelyn Alary Madden, has been brought to Wellington. Until the evidence has been considered by the Executive Council, consisting of the Governor-General and members of Cabinet, the death sentence cannot be carried out. The execution will probably take place in Wellington if the Executive Council does not interfere with the court’s sentence. If the death sentence is upheld the warrant will be forwarded to the sheriff, who has to carry out the execu’tion within seven days of receiving it.
