HIGHEST AWARD
Wellington President Recommended LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Alay 30. At a meeting of the New Zealand Council of the Royal Life Saving Society, it was decided to recommend Aliss Campbell and Messrs. G. T. Allen and A. 11. Boulton, of Hamilton, for an honorary associate award, and Mr. NA. Ingram, president of AVellington head centre, Jor the distinguished service medal, the highest award the society can bestow. The Auckland centre asked whether disqualifications by a head centre of either the Surf Association or the Royal Life .Saving Society were' recognised by the other body. A case arose from tiie abandonment of a competition at Alilford Beach on Alarch 17, when two teams would not compete because the captain of the Alilford Beach men’s team was under suspension by the local Surf Association. It was stated to the meeting that the New Zealand Surf Council was holding an inquiry into an appeal against the suspension, and the matter did not lie before the council of the Royal Life Saving Association.
