DUKE’S SON ENLISTS
Joining Foreign Legion Dunkirk, February 14. Lord Edward Montagu, son of the Duke of Manchester, has enlisted in the Foreign Legion for five years’ service. He said that he preferred the aviation corps, but a tough life did not matter. The enlistment must be sanctioned by the Legion headquarters at Toul, where the recruit will undergo medical examination. After that he will be drafted to Algiers. Last August Lord Edward Montague decided to join the Foreign Legion and flew to Dunkirk to do so, but was told he could not be enlisted until he brought papers. He changed his inind overnight and returned to England. Lord Montague was born in 1906, and married in 1929 Miss Norah Totter.
