WEDDING

Cole—Riddle ' The wedding took place on Tuesday at St. James’s Presbyterian Church of Hermla Fairlie, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Riddle, Owen Street, to Thomas Edward, only son of Mrs. and the/late Mr. T. W. Cole, Brightwater, Nelson. The Reverend Mr. Milne officiated, and Mr. Spencer Cooper presided at the organ. The bride entered the church escorted by her father and wearing a gown of Swiss tinsel ceconne moulded on classical lines, the long train being edged with accordeon pleating of the same material. The cowl yoke was held in place by a spray of orange blossoms and forget-me-nots, and her veil of silk net edged with lace was embroidered with silver. Her bouquet was of stephanotls 'and white roses. The chief bridesmaid, Miss Jean Riddle, wore a trained frock of buttercup flat crepe with bateau neckline and deep shoulder cape. The other bridesmaids, Miss Norma Riddle and Miss Paddy Rowe, wore similar frocks of water-lily green. They carried shower bouquets of roses, pansies and maidenhair fern, and wore floral bandeaux. >

The bridegroom was attended by Messrs. W. Walker as best man and M. Haigh and C. Cranston as groorns-

men, while Messrs. D. Morrison and FWatkink acted as ushers. During the signing of the register Mr. Walter Bentley sang “Bless This House,” accompanied by Mr. Cooper on the organ. After the ceremony about ninety guests were entertained at a reception held in the Mokoia Jlall. Mrs. Riddle received her guests in a gown of Marina blue crepe matrissa, trimmed with touches of pink. She wore a picture hat of oyster straw trimmed with pink, and carried a shower bouquet of shaded pink roses and maidenhair fern. Mrs. Cole, mother of the bridegroom, wore a wine coloured dress and black hat trimmed with wine and silver, and carried a bouquet of autumn-shaded flowers. The bride travelled in a figured frock of saxe blue with swagger coat in plain blue to match and a leghorn hat and wore squirrel furs.
