Plahting-Out Time Have you planted out your new batch of canterbury bells yet? If not, this is a job Mbich needs your early attention, for if these plants are late in being set out, they flower prematurely and only a short spike of half-open blooms is formed. Prepare the soil by digging a fooj deep, and mixing with it half a bucketful of farmyard manure pe.r square yard. Tread it firmly and rake in (4in. deep) a good sprinkling of lime rubble.
Water the nursery bed the day before planting to make sure of lifting with a good ball of soil. Set the plants 12 to 15in. apart each way and water every day until they are established.
