“Peg. Woffington” in Colour.
A DVICE is just to hand that British and Dominions intend making a film based on the life of Peg Woffington, the famous 18th century actress. ( Anna Neagle and Sir . Cedric Hard- ' wicke, the stars of the forthcoming production, ,“Nell Gwyn,” will play Peg and David Garrick respectively, and filming will commence shortly under the direction of Herbert Wilcox. Anna Neagle is considered to be particularly suited to the role of Peg, as this character has some of the qualities of vitality and glamour that made Nell Gwyn a national figure. The film will be made in colour, and scenes in' Ireland, fashionable eighteenth century London, and a complete reconstruction of the Cheshire Cheese will be included.
