Suggestion For Royal Show EVENT AT HASTINGS Dominion Special Service. Dannevirke. February 13. Tlie eastern district council of the Royal Agricultural Society of New Zealand ’ decided at a meeting at the Dannevirke Show this afternoon to recommend to tlie society that tlie Royal Show at Hastings in October of this year should be a two-day fixture. The president of tlie society. Mr. L. J Wild, presided, and was accompanied by the secretary, Mt. R. McCay. Tlie personnel of the council was completed by the election of Mr. H. B. Stuckey, president of tlie Dannevirke A. and P. Association. Mr. J. H. McNiven, Hastings. was elected chairman of the council, the district of which extends from Lower Hutt to Gisborne. Mr. 11. B. Stuckey was elected secretary. The following were elected as councillors of the Royal Show Society:— Sir William Perry (Mastertun), Mr. J. H. McNiven (Hastings), Mr. H. B. Stuckey (Dannevirke), Mr. ’W. Howard Booth (Carterton) and Mr./ A. Robottom (Otane). A report presented on the activities of the Royal Show Society showed that over 50 life members had been elected since the last meeting in July, In addition to about 50 annual members. It was decided to hold a meeting of the council at Hastings in March in order to frame remits for the annua! conference of the society.
