BOWLING TOURNEY
Upper Hutt-Petone Sixteen rinks competed in the one-day tourney conducted by the Upper Hutt Bowling Club on the Central club’s greens at Petone on Tuesday. Upper Hutt had four rinks, Central, Lower Hutt, Petone. Woburn and Thorndon two each, and Lyall Bay and Island Bay one each. The A section was won outright by F. Parker (Lower Hutt) with five wins. A section tie had to be played in the B section between Goodwin (Upner Hutt) and Lawry (Petone). Goodwin winning. In the final Parker won after a close game. Mr. W. Greig’ on behalf of the Upper Hutt club, thanked the Central club for the use of its green, and Mr. W. Irwin for the work he put in to get a full entry. He felt sure that all bowlers had had an enjoyable day.
