Dr. F.P. Keppel, president of the Carnegie Corporation, of New York, was presented with a book of photographic views of New Zealand, prefaced with an illuminated address and bound in blue morocco, at the home of Mr. Norton Francis, Christchurch, on Saturday evening. The illuminated work and lettering of the address was carried out by Professor J. Shelley, of Canterbury University College.

Mr. Mervyn St. Paul, manager for the New Zealand Insurance Company at Singapore, having decided to retire on superannuation, will be succeeded by Mr. D’Arcy Anderson, assistant manager at Singapore. Mr. St. Paul has spent 30 of his 40 years’ service with the company in the East, having been also at Calcutta and Bombay. Like Mr. St. Paul, who is at present on furlough in Auckland, Mr. Anderson, who is a son of Mr. Edward Anderson, of Remuera, joined the company in Auckland and has been at Singapore for five years.
