St. John Ambulance Awards For some time both boy. and girl cadets of the St. 'John Ambulance Brigade have been active in their efforts to qualify for the Grand Prior’s Badge, and there has been a good deal of speculation as to which of the brigade districts in the Dominion would secure that honour. Information has been received by Colonel Barclay, Chief Commissioner, that Wellington has obtained the badge for girls and Canterbury for boys. The names of the recipients are:—Cadet Joan Dutton, Wellington Cadet Nursing Division: Cadet Joyce'Whittaker, Wellington Suburban No. 2 Cadet Nursing Division; Cadets Bruce MacFarlane, Duncan Clarke, Basil Buckley and Jack Ede, Christchurch No 3 Cadet Ambulance Division. The badge will be presented to the Wellington cadets at a corps meeting ou Thursday next at 8.30 p.m. in the brigade rooms, Vivian Street, by Colonel .J. J. Esson, executive officer, New Zealand commander. Cadet proficiency badges have been issued to the following cadets who have qualified therefor by obtaining certificates in the four subjects mentioned :—

Wellington Cadet Nursing Division. —Cadet Muriel Osboldstone (home nursing, child welfare, knowledge of the Order, fire fighting). Wellington Suburban Cadet Nursing Division.—Cadet Erma Brewin (child welfare, home nursing, public service, fire fighting). Wellington Suburban No. 2 Cadet Nursing Division. —Cadet A. Ransle.v (home nursing, child welfare, fire fighting, cooking). Brooklyn Cadet Nursing Division.— Cadet Pearl Veale (hygiene, home nursing, child welfare, fire fighting); Jacqueline Taylor (home v nursing, swimming, child welfare, fire fighting): Valda Hoffeins (hygiene, home nursing, child welfare, fire fighting).
