Lyceum Club “At Home” There was a large gathering of members and friends in the comfortable rooms of the Lyceum Club last evening, when Mrs. A. D. Kerr was the guest of honour at an “At Home.” Mrs. Kerr, who is leader of the Fenwomen’s Circle and has been a member of the club for many j-ears, will leave Wellington shortly to reside at Christchurch. During the evening items were given by members of each circle of the club, and the president, Mrs. C. J. B. Norwood, in bidding farewell to Mrs. Kerr, presented her with a brown crocodile handbag, from her fellowmembers. Mrs. Kerr also received a beautiful bouquet of pink carnations from Miss Gray. Those who gave items were Mrs. Wilson, who played pianoforte solos, the Dramatic Circle, who staged an amusing play, “Wanted, a Cook,” Miss Richardson, representing the Penwomen, who read “Drought,” Mrs. Herbert; who sang two songs, Miss Thornhill, of the Garden Circle, who read about “Trees,” the Junior Circle, who acted a cliarade, Miss Old. representing the Library Circle, and Miss C. Keddell, who read on behalf of the Play-reading Circle. A very pleasant evening concluded with, supper and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
