PIGEON RACING
Hutt Valley Homing Club The Hutt Valley Homing Club flew its second young bird's race recently from Marton, an air line distance of 81 i miles. Fifteen members competed witli .11.7 birds, which were liberated by the stationmaster at 11 a.m. in fine weather. The race resulted in a close finish as follows : — A. Bold and Sons’ “Dutchless,” 11.15. S yards per minute, 1; G. Woodward aiul Son’s “War Sister.” 1112.2 yards per minute, 2; R. McMurray’s bird. 1110 yards per minute, 3; R. Leighton nnd Son’s “Hecan,” 1109.9 yards per minute. 4; J. Dullenger’s ‘‘Darkle Lad.” 1109. S yards per minute. 5; P. Mexted’s “Starlight.” 1107.9 yards per minute, 6; K. Clarke and Son's bird, 1106.9 yards per minute, 7; D. Andrews's bird, 1103.2 yards per minute, S; W. Bond’s “Depot.”
