TWO TRAGIC FIRES
Ten Lives Lost in India and Burma (Received February 7, 7.10 p.m.) Calcutta, February 7. Seven persons, including an eight-year-old girl, perished and four were critically burned in a fire in a shop in the village of Vnyalpad, near Madras, when a tin of kerosene, blazed up, igniting a large store of ground nuts ami gutting the house in 10 minutes. Captain C. B. Hamilton, executive officer at the Mingaldun military cantonments near Rangoon, and his young son and daughter were burnt to death when their bungalow caught fire early this morning. The victims were trapped before help was forthcoming. Captain Hamiltons wife and another daughter are at present visiting Bangalore, India.
