EXHIBITION TENNIS
Muritai’s New- Pavilion A programme ot exhibition tennis has been arranged, by the Muritai Tennis Club for tlie opening of its new pavilion. Leading Wellington male players will take part in the tournament. The matches will be held at the dlnb’s courts at Muritai on Sunday, commencing at 2 pan., and the following players have consented to participate:— D. France (New Zealand doubles champion)), N. Smith (Wellington champion), D. Coombe (North Island champion), N. Bedford (New Zealand intermediate champion), E. Ronssell (semifinalist New Zealand championships), K. Ferkins (Wellington representative), J. McCarthy (New Zealand Universities tennis representative), J. Charters (North Island doubles aud Wairarapa singles champion), M. Ferkins (South Wairarapa champion), N. Morrison (Cast Harbour doubles champion), B. McCarthy (winner Wellington Plate), H. Burns (secretary, N.Z.L.T.A.). The .new pavilion, which has been completed in the most • modern style, will be officially opened by the club’s president, Mr. H. W. Shortt, who. will also present the trophies to the winners of the East Harbour tournament. A dance will be held in the new pavilion on Saturday night. Visitors are invited to be present at the dance, and the exhibition tennis on. the following day.
