Loss on British Team’s Tour The final statement of the recent tour of the British amateur golf team, submitted to the monthly meeting of the council of the New Zealand Golf Association this week, showed that after paying all travelling expenses for the visitors and expenses in connection with the matches, there was a loss on the tour of £284/18/7. It was resolved that the statement be passed and forwarded to Christchurch, together with relative vouchers, for perusal on behalf of Mr. Arthur Sims, who arranged the tour. A letter was received from the Christchurch Golf Club, indicating that any date between October 1 and 19 would suit that club for the commencement of the 1935 tournament. It was decided to submit for approval the following dates: Friday, October 11, to Saturday, October 19. Various applications were received for the positions of travelling professionals. For the North Island it was resolved to appoint T. W. Green, who held the position last season, and for the South Island J. A. Clements, of Christchurch, was appointed to the temporary position. Ou the recommendation of the chairman of the New Zealand golf greens research committee, the following additional members of the committee were elected: Mr. 11. R. Jones, of Wanganui; Mr. S. Eaton, of Dannevirke, and one member to be nominated by the Manawatu Golf Club. Coining Tournaments. Forthcoming tournaments notified to the association were: — Hanmer Springs Golf Club, annual contest for the Simes memorial and Bascad clips, March 29 and 30; Manawatu Golf Club (Palmerston North), Easter tournament, April 20, 22 and 23; Castlecliff Golf Club (Wanganui), Easter tournament, April 19. 20 and 22; New Plymouth Golf Club. Easter tournament, April 20, 22 and 23; Invercargill Golf Club, Southland provincial golf championship, April 19, 20 and 22; Poverty Bay Golf Club (Gisborne), annual amateur'tournament, September 3, 4 and 5.
