Noxious Weed Menace
Sir, —I am sorry to see that only one of your readers besides myself seems to consider the vital subject of noxious weeds in New Zealand worthy of discussion. lam writing this letter in order that it may be placed on record in your paper that I have predicted that unless immediate tlrastic stops are taken to control noxious weeds, especially ragwort, within three years that.subject will have become our chief topic of conversation.
In this temperate climate of ours, where plants flourish so luxuriantly, weeds constitute a far greater danger than any human enemies. Before it is too late I beg everyone who travels along our roads not to do so with their eyes shut, but to carefully note whether I am telling the truth or not. Anu if I am right, let its put our house in order right away. This matter should be taken up by the Press right throughout New Zealand. Of course, this is a question quite beneath the Farmers’ Union or Government to trouble about —at present!—l am. etc., G. F. MOORE. Bushy Park, February 5,
