DEED OF ASSIGNMENT
Personal Fortune of Mr. E. A. Strauss COMPANY’S LIABILITIES (Received February 16, 12.14 a.m.) London, February 5. The “Daily Express” says that a deed of assignment registered at the Board of Trade secures the personal fortune of Mr. E. A. Strauss, M.P., the largest shareholder in the Strauss Company, against which a petition for compulsory winding up has been filed, to a committee representing the firm’s creditors. It shows a total liability of £1,946,168, including assessments in respect of excess profits duty, now under appeal. £500,000. The value of Mr. Strauss’s property included in the deed is £283,382.
