RULE NISI GRANTED
Application on Behalf of Kisch (Received February 5, 8.50 p.m.) Sydney, February 5. In the High Court to-day Mr. Justice Evatt granted a rule nisi returnable on March 18 restraining the authorities from proceeding further on the conviction of Egon Kisch as a prohibited immigrant.
Following Kisch’s conviction by the police magistrate, Mr. Shepherd, on January 21, application was made to iMr. Justice Evatt in the High Court for a rule nisi restraining Mr, Shepherd from proceeding further. Kiseh was sentenced to three months’ hard labour, but was released on bail pending his appeal to the Quarter Sessions.
