FIJI VISIT OVER
Duke Leaves For Apia FIRE-WALKING DISPLAY (Received February 5, 7 p.m.) Suva, February 5. Yesterday the Duke of Gloucester visited the island of Beqa, 20 miles south of Suva, where a fire-walking ceremony was'performed in his honour, and greatly impressed the Royal visitor. Later in the day he took part in a fish drive, and was' so interested that he jumped overboard from the whaleboat and assisted in hauling in the net in which were over 100 fish. Last night there was a dance in the Town Hall for petty officers and men of H.M.A.S. Australia, while the Duke attended a private dance at Government House. This morning the Duke and party let* in H.M.A.S. Australia for Apia, and among those on the wharf to bid him farewell were the Governor, Sir Murchison Fletcher, the Mayor, the Hon. Alport Barker, and officials. The guard of honour comprised European, Fijian and Indian troops and constabulary.
