COACH FOR ATHLETES
Move to Secure Noted Englishman The desirability of securing a coach to assist athletics in New Zealand has been insisted on more than once. A letter was received at last night’s meeting of the council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association from the Canterbury centre asking “that the council investigate immediately proposals to bring Captain F. A. M. Webster to New Zealand as coach in the 1935-36 season.” “We understand that this matter could be arranged at a small cost,” the letter stated, “and, in view of the fact that his services would greatly assist the sport in the Dominion, we recommend the suggestion to your favourable consideration.” The question was referred to a sub-com-mittee to 1 inquire and report. Captain Webster is one of the most notefl coaches and authorities on sport in England, and his engagement would be of incalculable benefit' to athletics in New Zealand.
