Wellington Club Meets An immediate application for the uoe of the Basin Reserve to open the season of the newly-formed Wellington Cash Athletic and Cycling Club will be made as a result of a decision of the club at its general meeting on Monday. It is hoped Io secure a date at Easter. Mr. S. Baker-West presided. Arrangements for the art union which the club is to promote were finalised. A letter congratulating the club on its formation and inviting members to compete at the Blenheim St. Patrick’s Day sports was received from the Marlborough and Nelson centre of the New Zealand Athletic, Cycling and Axemen's Union. Messrs. C. E. Harrison mid T. Brennan were elected vice-presidents of _ the club. Mr. C. Thompson was appointed cycling handicapper. A 75 yards dash will be staged by the club in conjunction with the broadsiding programme at Kilbirnie Stadium on February 16. This will be the first time in New' Zealand that athletic events have been run iu conjunction with broadsiding.
Among those present at the meeting wns Mr. S. Lukey. On the motion of the chairman Mr. Lukey was congratulated on his recent ride from Wellington to Auckland and back.
