YACHTING RACES
Events at Plimmerton Two handicap races were held at I’limmerton in fine weather with a strong westerly wind and cnoppy sea. The first race was the Dallaston Cup, for X and I class yachts, and the second the Vickery fup for Z class. Only three started in the first race, and Cly'Je soon established a lead which was easily maintained. On corrected times, the boats were placed as followßamona (7.15), 4.40.40; Clyde (scr.). 4.41.40; Juiieta (8.50), 4.55.25. Five Z class started in the second race, in which Watti soou maintained a lead, uml steadily increased it. Vnuitie, sailing second, was overtaken by Swallow the second time round, and there was no alteration in the places of the boats for the remainder of the race. The crew in Corsair sailed a good race, and showed a vast improvement on their earlier performances. The final result of the race was as follows:—Torment (scr.), did not start; Watti (1.10), 4.47.34; Corsair (9.40), 4.48.49; Swallow (3.15), 4.49.54; Vanitie (6.20), 4.51.42; Paerata (7.5), 4.53.20.
