Silent Bill to Leave For England To-day Dominion Special Service. Marton, February 5. The chestnut gelding Silent Bill, which was presented to the Duke of Gloucester by Mr. T. A. Duncan, 6f Hunterville, left Marton on ■ the early express this morning. Silent Bill is being shipped through Levin and Co., and will sail from Wellington in the Akaroa, due to depart early to-morrow morning. Seen on the Marton racecourse yesterday, Silent Bill made a perfect picture, and racing men present were unanimous in their appreciation of the gelding’s condition. His trainer, Mr L. G. Morris, of Marton, was loud in his praises and declared that Silent Bill looked better than he h’ad ever done before. A photographer was present, and some fine pictures were taken of Mr. T. A. Duncan’s gift to the Dominion’s recently departed Royal visitor. During recent performances Silent Bill litis done very well. In his last four starts he has secured two first places and one second. In strong company at Wanganui recently ho carried. 11.3 and finished fourth. The gelding is a splendid jumper and will undoubtedly find great favour with his Royal owner. Though only five years old he has been racing just on IS months.
