AIRMAN’S ROMANCE
Marries Fiancee of Flyer Brought Down in War London, February 3. The “People” states that the Australian Air Force pilot Captain Robert Larkin is proceeding to Australia tomorrow from Dusseldorf after marrying Fraulein Edda Ritzau. Captain Larkin in wartime brought down the German airman Karl Niebuhr. Ho tried vainly to trace the next-of-kin in order to restore the dead airman’s effects. Eventually he located Fraulein Ritzau and handed over the photographs and other articles found on Ihe body of Niebuhr, who was her fiance.
A friendship sprang up between Captain Larkin and Fraulein Ritzau, and she consented to marry him. He had fallen in love from her photograph.
