Miss Bennie received her guests wearing an organdie frock patterned with an Oriental design. Mrs. Bennie wore a beige lace dress with trimmings of beige fur, and Miss Lewis "wore a red and white check organdie dress, and white hat. Bowls of tiger lilies were artistically arranged in the drawing-room, while dahlias were used for decoration in the dining-room. A novel effect was seen on the tea table, where soft light from a table lamp played on dainty handmade coloured china flowers. Masses of hydrangeas stood in the hall. Among those present were Mrs. F. Bradley, Mrs. J. Payne, Mrs. Lohguet, Mrs. E. A. Jones, Mrs. Campbell, Mrs. 8. Burney, and the Misses Margaret, Mary and Adele Bucklin, F. and U. Henry, D. Mills, Galwey, La Trobe, U. McMillan, M. Anscombe, M. Ward, B. Hay, S. Seville and A. Bevin. Violin solos Were given by Miss Lewis, and songs by Miss Doris Black, Miss D. Atkinson and Miss Bennie. Miss Ormi Reid and Mrs. E. A. Jones played the accompaniments.
