Cargill—Bain The wedding was solemnised at St. David’s Presbyterian Church, Petone, recently of Jean Lillian, elder daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. A. D. Bain, Petone, and Victor Cargill, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Cargill, Petone. The officiating minister was the Rev. G. C. Loan. The bride, who was escorted by her uncle, wore a gown of pink crepe satin with cowl back and high front in the bodice. Her skirt formed a graceful train. Her pink embroidered veil was held in place with a wreath of orange blossom and she carried a shower bouquet of pale pink carnations, maidenhair fern and gladioli. Miss Isohel Cargill, sister of the bridegroom, who was bridesmaid, wore a cherry pink georgette frock with a picture hat to match and bouquet to tone. The two little flower girls, Molly and Doreen Asher, cousins of the bride, wore long pink frocks of organdie and carried posies. Mr. Gordon Ward, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man. Later Mr. and Mrs. Cargill left for the south, the bride travelling in a smart ensemble of pink and hat to match. * ♦ << Dennis—Bayfeild The marriage took place recently at St. Barnabas Church, Roseneath, of Ina Ethel, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Bayfeild, Wellington, to Thomas, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Dennis, Wellington. Miss Nancy Bayfeild was bridesmaid, and Mr. N. R. Russell best man. The reception was held at the Empire Hotel. • ♦ • O’Regan—Fanning The wedding took place in the Church of St. Francis de Sales, Island Bay, recently, of Cornelius James, second son of Mr. and Mrs. P. J. O’Regan, and Dorothy Irene, eldest daughter of Mrs. C. Fanning, Island Bay. The ceremony was performed by the parish priest, Father N. Maloney, S.M., and was followed by a Nuptial Mass. Mrs. T. G. Fouhy presided at the organ, and Mrs. Rolland O’Regan sang "0 Salutaris” (Hiscocks) and “Ave Maria” (luzzi). The bride, who was accompanied by her uncle, Mr. Frank Fanning, wore a handsome princess gown of ivory satin, the neck-line being trimmed with pearls and the long sleeves rucked to the wrists. Her veil was of beautiful carrickmacross lace, and she carried a sheaf of cream gladioli. The bridesmaid, Miss Elsie Fanning, was attired in a frock of maize windswept crepe, finished with inserted yoke and divided sleeves caught with bows of brown velvet. She wore a smart brown beret, and carried a bouquet of amber gladioli. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Dr. Rolland O’Rdgan. The wedding breakfast was served at the residence of the bride’s mother, Mrs. C. Fanning, who received her guests, wearing a slim-cut navy floral frock, trimmed with cherry and white pleating and navy coat. Her hat was of navy baku straw. The mother of the bridegroom, Mrs. P. J. O’Regan, wore a smart wine-coloured marocain suit, with high-neck lines and with a - tunic of white floral windswept satin. i the whole being finished from neck to < waist with fine pleating. Her hat was of wine-tinted dallibuntal straw. The bride travelled in a smart diagonal-striped frock, relieved with brown, and a coat to tone.

The visitors included Mrs. Mackin, an old friend of the O’Regan family, Miss Sowry (England), Miss M. Keating (cousin of the bridegroom, from Port Fairy, Victoria), Miss Eileen Gibbs (who travelled by air from Pieton for the occasion), Dirs. P. J. O’Regan, jun., and her two small sons, from the West Coast, and many others.
