* Matches at Trentham TRICKY SOUTHERLY WIND Although the weather was warm and the atmosphere clear on Saturday, conditions at Trentli/m from a markeman’e point of view were far from perfect. Of the breezes that blow at Trentham the one that gives most trouble is the southerly, whether it be light or trets.i, marksmen of experience frequently nnding themselves at a loss to know whether to allow for windage from the right or from the left. Such were the conditions on Saturday when the windage allowance required varied at 600 yards from approximately three feet right to two and a half feet left. When it is considered that the bulls-eye is only 18 inches in diameter the difficulty of finding the bull under such conditions can be realised. Karori Club. Scoring was low in the Karori club’s sixth match for its championship aggregate. The veterans 11. V. Croxton and P B. Goldfinch registered the best scores off the gun. the former winning the weekly trophy for ecratch’ men, while B. G. Goldfinch, who reached the club standard with his handicap, won the handicap trophy.

King are tieing for first place with an aggregate of 308 points each. A similar position occurs in the handicap aggregate, B. G. Goldfinch and H. 11. King each having a total of 385 points. Congreve was the only rifleman to get a fair score in his second shoot of 4a.
