Farmers to Hold Meeting

To give the rank and file of the farming community an opportunity of discussing the proposed National Mortgage Corporation, the'condition of the industry and restrictive legislation, tlffi Manawatu executive of the Dairy Farmers’ Union this afternoon decided to hold a public meeting at Palmerston North or Rangiotu in tiie near future. The proposal was placed before the meeting by Mr. E. O. Bond, who declared that farmers were being tied to the wheels of high finance and hindered by harassing restrictions. The National Mortgage Corporation would the farmers down like serfs, create another army of officials and compel a farmer to render accounts throughout the whole seasqn concerning everything on the farm from an egg to a calfskin.
