The erection of Auckland’s new Town Hall is going on apace. Within the last month 96,000 bricks and 5000 cubic feet of Oamaru stone have been utilised in raising the walls of the new structure.
The Oaths Bill has received the Royal assent. It makes tiie Scottish form of onth tl;e normal one in England. The object of the Bill was to make universal the administration of the oath by uplifted hand, the manner in which it is usually administered in Scotland and to enable the court to administer it in this form unless the person about to take the oath volunarilv objects thereto.
