NAPIER WOOL SALE

Big Withdrawals Expected

RISE ANTICIPATED LATER

Dominion Special Service,

Napier, November 30.

Consequent on the uncertain attitude of Continental buyers at the Auckland sale this week it is felt that there is a possibility of heavy withdrawals from the catalogues for the opening Napier wool sale of the season to be held on Monday next. The present offering contains approximately 17.000 bales, but it is anticipated that by. the time the sale opens this figure will have dropped to between 15,000 and 16.000 bales. It seems fairly evident that growers anticipate a rise later.

In the catalogues are listed some very fine early shorn wools, particularly hogget wools. It is considered that possibly these wools are of a better class than those offered in Auckland recently, but the general feeling is till'd the northern quotation may be considered as a reasonable criterion of what may happen at the Napier sale. There is, however, a prospect of slight increases for very line counts.
