Hoffman—Pilgrim The wedding of Pauline Roles, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Pilgrim, Wellington, to Walter Hoffmau, vice-consul for the United States of America in Wellington, took place at St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral on Wednesday. The church was beautifully decorated with flowers, and the Rev. Canon James performed the ceremony. Miss Thawley presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a frock of heavy French crepe in a beige shade, with a cape of fox fur. Her hat was of line beige straw, and she carried a boutiuet of lily of the valley. Miss Dorothy Brown and Miss Duffy Davis, who attended her, wore brown satin frocks, large picture hats of brown straw, and carried bouquets of pink roses. Dr. Alan Tennent was the best man and Mr. Orebaugh. vice-consul for U.S.A., was groomsman. After the ceremony a small reception was held at the Hotel St. George, which was beautifully decorated with rhododendrons and azaleas in all shades of pink. Mrs. Pilgrim wore a gown of black chiffon and lace, a small black hat trimmed with ospreys, and carried a bouquet of roses. Among the guests were Mr. G. A. Bucklin (Consul-General for U.S.A. in New Zealand) and Mrs. Bucklin, Mr. and Mrs. Rothenberg. Mrs. Orebaugh, Sirs. Tenneiji. Mrs. R. E. Brown. Mr. and Mrs. Bryce, Mr. and Mrs. B. Ellis, Mrs. Surrey' Dayne. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hoffmann left by car for Auckland to join the Mariposa for a trip to the Great Barrier Reef. The bride travelled in a green Norfolk costume and matching hat. * * * Brown—Parsonson The wedding was solemnised at Knox Presbyterian Church, Mastertou, on IVeduesdaj - night, of Nola Clare, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Parsonsou, Masterton, to David Laird, second son of Mr. John and the late Mrs. Brown, Masterton. The Rev. John Davie was the officiating minister.

The bride, who was given away bv her father, wore a gown of silk lace over satin, trimmed with marriette ruffle and with pleated sleeves. She carried a bouquet of lilies and lily-of-the-valley.

The bridesmaids were Miss B. Ruddick (chief) and Miss Margaret Brown (sister of the bridegroom). Miss Ruddick was wearing a frock of silk pique, ■with frilled bodice and skirt. Miss Brown’s frock was of similar design, but in greem, Both wore chic bats hi Queen Anne style, to tone, and carried shower bouquets of shell pink roses and maidenhair fern.

Mr. Harvey Boys carried out the duties of best man, while those of groomsman were carried out by Mr. Neville Parsonson, brother of the bride.

After the ceremony, a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, where Mrs. Parsonson, mother of the bride, wearing a frock of royal blue elephant crepe, with <hat to tone, received the guests. Later, Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Brown left for a motor tour, the bride travelling in a royal blue ensemble with hat and shoes to tone. Their future home will be in Masterton.
