Sydney, September 21.
Arthur Desmond Morris, 28 years of age, a recent arrival from New Zealand, pleaded guilty at the Quarter-Ses-sions to bigamy. It was stated in evidence that Morris terrorised a second woman, threatening to kill her and her parents and then commit suicide if she refused to marry him.
He was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, the judge recommending that he be released if arrangements could be made for Morris to return to New Zealand and assurance be given that he would never return to Australia.
