Christchurch, May 9. Cold, showery weather prevailed today. and it considerably affected the attendance at Hie weekly Addington market. Store sheep were forward in fewer numbers, but there were average to heavy entries'of all the other major sections, notably of fat cattle. Store sheep: A small entry of ewes sold nt recent rates, but carry-over lambs were down by 1/- to 1/6, forward wethers were in good demand. Good ewe lambs made 20/6 to'22/6, ordinary to 15/9. medium wether 15/- to 16/6. ordinary 12/C to 14/6; good twotooth halfbred ewes made to 33/9; good s.m.. 18/6 to 20/-; good two-tooth three-quarter-bred. 30/3; plain s.m., 14/6 to 16/10: backward and inferior. 9/- to 13/-; forward full-mouth halfbred wethers. 20/- to 21/-; medium full-mouth, 17/6 to ID/-; medium two-tooth; to 19/2. Fat lambs: The quality was very good In an entry of 2400 head, and values were a shade firmer. Extra prime heavy lambs made to 28/4; prime heavy. 24/6 to 27/6; prime medium weights, 21/6 to 24/-; light, 17/-to 21/-. Fat sheep: An entry of 5500 head, compared with 6300 last week. Freezing ewes were firmer, but heavy-weight wethers were easier. Exporters kept all-round values up. to freezing schedule. Store cattle: Good class three and four-year . Shorthorn steers were offered and sold well at up to £5. Eighteenmonths to two-years made 45/- to 55/-; 18-moiith heifers, 25A to 32/6.

There was a large entry in the fat pig section, and prices were easier. Exporters were abel to operate/fairly freely at lower prices, and tvell over 200 head were purchased for export. Choppers made £2 to £3/18/6; baconere, 42/6 to 47/6: heavy. 52/6 to 59/6; extra heavy, £3/8/6 to £3/10/6—average price a lb. 43d. to sd. Porkers made 25/- to 28/6; heavy, 30/6 to 35/6 —average price a lb. 4jd, to 5J4. ' Store pigs: A small yarding of mostly large stores, which were in keen demand.
