Eighty Trapped in Germany HOPE OF RESCUE GIVEN UP Munich, May 7. Though many escaped, .80 miners were trapped when a short circuit, due to the collapse of a pitprop cutting a high-tension cable, tired the main shaft in a salt mine at Bueggingeu. Thick smoke precluded rescues. Hope was abandoned and the mine sealed.
