WADESTOWN gardens

Annual Meeting of Society The report presented at the annual meeting of the AVadestown Cottage Garden and Beautifying Society stated that endeavours had been made to have various areas of land in the district planted with trees and shrubs, and the society was deeply indebted to Sir James Grose and Mr. G. L. Stewart, who had worked hard for that object. The steady progress of past years should be maintained in the coming one, and. now that the City Council was paying some attention to Wadestown. the society might be able to live ui> to its title. Twiss, Campbell, Young, Dr. A L. Young, the Rev. F. H. Wilkinson. A. T. Young. 11. Baillie. Lady Hosking, nnd Mrs. J. P. Firth; hon. auditor. Mr. B. S. Withers: trustee. Mr. E. Cook; hon.-'treasurer. Mr. W. 11. Allen; lion, secretary, Mrs, D, Stafford. Votes'of thanks to Mr. 11. Baillie, retiring president, and Mrs. W. S. McPherson, retiring secretary, both of whom have held office for a number of years, wore passed. Mr. W. H. Alien praising the work done by botli officers.
