ORPHANS’ CLUB

Opening Evening of Season For the opening night of the Wellington Orphans’ Club season the Masonic Hall was crowded. The vicepatron, Colonel J. J. Esson, C.M.G., performed the installation ceremony, placing the chain of office on the president, Mr. 11. F. Wood, who occupied the chair. Supporting the president were the vice-patron. Mr. C. C. He advised members that they could look forward with pleasure to many good evenings during the coming season as exceptional performances had been arranged for their entertainment. The new secretary, -Mr. Egerton Pegg, was introduced to members. An excellent musical performance followed, a feature being the excellent playing of the club’s orchestra under the baton of Mr. Harold Godier and consisting of some 25 players.
