Visit of Australian Team SUGGESTED ITINERARY The team of Australian amateur boxers who will visit Wie Dominion this year should give a much-needed fillip to the pastime in this country. A sub-committee of the New Zealand Boxing Council has recommended that the Australia v. New Zealand match should be boxed at Invercargill on October 8 and 9, the Southland Boxing Association having agreed to the guarantee asked for by the council. The New Zealand Boxing Council has suggested the following itinerary for the tour: — October 4: Arrive Wellington from Sydney by the Monowai. October 8 and 9: Against New Zealand representatives at Invercargill.' October 15: Against Wellington, at Wellington. October 22: Against Auckland, at Auckland. October 26: Leave Auckland for Sydney by the Manama. It is estimated that the tour will cost in the vicinity of £430. The New Zealand Council will be responsible for a party of ten—eight boxers, a manager, and a trainer —but there is a possibility of additional boxers making the. trip. The team will be selected after the State championships in Australia, and it is probable that for the most part the same boys who fought against the New Zealanders at Brisbane last year will be chosen. As the New Zealanders will have just completed the Dominion championships a( Hastings, they should be in their best form. The Australian lads selected for the tour will be lucky, as they will be three weeks in the Dominion and will only have to box on four nights. A visit, to Rotorua is among the possibilities of the tour. In any ease, the Australian lads will see something of the country, as they will travel from Invercargill to Auckland. The secretary of the New Zealand Boxing Association. Mr. G. P. Aldridge, stated yesterday that the Australian team may yet travel by steamer from Melbourne to the Bluff. '
