Auckland Agrees to Change of Name MOTOR UNION MEETING Information that delegates to the recent meeting of the North Island (N.Z.) Motor Union had agreed to alter the style of the names for the various motor bodies to the Automobile Association .(Auckland), (Wellington), etc., was given by Mr. E. Palliser in a report to tlie meeting of tlie executive of the Wellington Automobile Club last night. Mr. Palllser said he thought he could say that at last finality was in sight. It had been decided unanimously to change the style of the names in the way suggested. Auckland had made several conditions. One was that the New Zealand Automobile Association, Christchurch, should de-register. The union could not decide that, but it had been agreed to ask the Christchurch body to de-register thus, and it was believed that it would do so. Another Auckland condition was that the North Island Motor Union should not be regarded as a controlling body. The Auckland delegates, however, had agreed to it remaining such with the addition of the words “except for domestic purposes.” The North Island Motor Union did not at present interfere in domestic affairs, so that the position remained much as at present. The chairman, Mr. E. A. Batt: All. we want now is Auckland to buy our guide book. Mr. Paliiser said that the North Island Motor Union meeting was one of the most successful they had bad for some time.

It was decided to call a special general meeting of the club, within three weeks of receipt of official notification of the decision of the North Island Union, to change the style of the club name to The Automobile Association (Wellington), Inc.
