Ministerial'. The Hon. Adam Hamilton. Minister of Employment, left Wellington for the south by the inter-island steamer on ‘Saturday evening. Sir. Hamilton, who will be absent from Wellington for about a week, will visit Central Otago in connection-with gold mining in relation to unemployment. . The Hon. J. G. Cobbe., Minister of Defence, returned to Wellington at the week-end from a visit of inspection of the territorial units and cadets in the Auckland, Waikato, Rotorua, and Whangarei districts. Mr. C. H. Hoverd, of the staff of the Auckland Post Oflice Savings Bank, has been appointed secretary of the Ancient Order of Foresters in Auckland. Mr. C. R. Chisman, organising director of the Empire art loan collection, Is at present in Christchurch; From there he will proceed to Wellington, Wanganui, and Auckland, sailing from the last-named city on May 11. The Rev.. Dom Moreno, a member of the Benedictine Monastery at New Norcla, Western Australia, a foremost authority in Australia on church music, a brilliant organist and distinguished composer, arrived at Auckland last week. Dom Moreno, who is a Spaniard, has come to New Zealand at the invitation of Bishop Liston to help the church choirs of. Auckland and its suburbs in an advisory capacity. Mr. T. G. A. Harle. senior subinspector in New Zealand of the Union Bank of Australia. Limited, has been appointed to a position in the general manager’s oflice, Melbourne, and will leave with' his family shortly. Mr. Harle, who is a qualified accountant, and holds the diploma in banking, was one of the Associated Banks’ representatives who gave evidence before the Monetary Committee recently. He was for some years in the inspector’s office, Wellington (from 1918 to 1927), as accountant, followed by 6} years as manager at Ashburton, before taking up his present duties. Mr. Harle has taken an active interest in acclimatisation affairs' in New Zealand, particularly in connection with fresh-water fish research, and the question of trout hatching mortality and methods.
