WEDDING

Dowling—O’Regan The Church of St. Francis de Sales. Island Bay. was crowded recently Avhen Isabel Cecily, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I’. J. O’Regan, was married to William Patrick, eldest son of Mrs. John O'Donnell. Clyde Street, Island Bay. The Rev Father Maloney officiated, and the ceremony was followed by a Nuptial Mass, in which the choir assisted, special features being the singing of “0 Salutaris” (Bordes!), by Mr. Egerton Pegg, and “Ave Maria" (Gounod), by Mrs. R. O’Regan. Miss JI. Radical) was at the organ. The altar had been decorated for the occasion by the Children of Mary, of which the bride was a member. The bride, who was escorted by her father through a guard of honour formed by the Children of Mary, wore a French model gown if ivory doe skin satin, cut on classic lines, the bodice being finished with a Medici collar. The sleeves were long and puffed to the elbow, with long tight cuffs. Her veil, of lovely Carriekmn cross lace made by the nuns of Dundalk. Ireland (the gift of Mrs. W Jlackiri). was worn off. the face, and caught at the sides with orange blossoms. and her bouquet of cream roses and maiden-hair fern completed a very charming picture. The three bridesmaids wore French model gowns —Misses Maisie O’Donnell and Doris Fanning in primrose’panne velvet, and Miss Cassie O’Donnell a gown of powder blue chiffon velvet—each wear-’ Ing, a small felt hat to match and carrying a bouquet of anemone roses and delphiniums Their lovely crystal necklaces were the gift of the bridegroom Miss Rosalie O’Rogan (niece, of the bride), carrying a posy of blue delphiniums, and wearing a Kate Greenaway frock of creme crepe de cliine wifi: blue sash, and a Victorian niched bonnet, was a charming little train-bearer.

Jlrs. P. J. O’Regan (mother of the bride) wore a royal blue Russian ensemble. ■ with stone marten furs, her hat of foyal blue being relieved with beige mount, and she carried a bouquet of autumn tunings. Jlrs. O’Donnell (mother of the bridegroom), wore a black and white ensemble, the coat having a large fawn fox.collar. She wore a black and white hat and carried a bouquet of red roses. Jlrs. J. O’Regan (Inangabua). aunt of the bride, wore a brown crepe de chine costume with fur and hat to match. Mr. James Dowling was best man, and Jlessrs. G. J. O’Regan and JI. J Kennedy were groomsmen. . The presents included gifts from the choir, the Children of Mary, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, with each of which the bride had been prominently identified.

During the afternoon a reception was held at the Royal Oak Hotel, the lounge of which was artistically decorated with flowers in shades of primrose- and.blue. Rev. Father Jfaloney, in proposing the toast of the bride and bridegroom, spoke in high terms of the bride as being one of his most zealous parishioners, always conspicuous for her good work, and a popular favourite by reason of her activities in connection with the St. /Vincent de Paul Society.

When Mr. and Mrs. Dowling left on their tour, the bride wore a brown tailored costume and hat to match, with stone marten furs.
